Finding a moment to write (mind you, it's 2:36am!)
So much, in just two months.
Grandma Sue visited for a week - made for a great recovery and transition for us all.
Made it through a very bad newborn cold.
A trip to the beach, and a speeding ticket on the way (that's Alameda, for you.)
Attended a wedding.
3 stitches at Children's Hospital - Julian, wooden chair in dining room, dancing. Very traumatic for all.
Stomach flu - Julian and me only. Day after stitches.
Chris made a quick trip to Spring Training for the baseball draft.
Already packing away some outgrown newborn clothes. Really? So soon?
Using the potty - Julian, not Lucia!
Mom retired at 73 - finally!
Real baby smiles.
Lucia still spends much of the day sleeping. On me. Thank goodness for the Moby. When awake, her eyes wander, her hands move excitedly, and she talks to us. Julian loves to 'look at' his baby sister, which usually involves more than just looking. I hear myself repeating, "Hugging is not laying on her!"
Everyday is filled with trying to establish a new routine and rhythm to our days and family life. From food prep, to housecleaning, to just sitting and being with each other, it's all a challenge. Today marks the first day since baby of bread baking. A whole wheat, sourdough loaf that I couldn't get enough of, fresh from the oven.
I think we're on our way.
